Stayed for 3D2N with 2nd son at this hotel . Its' well situated at JB centre , closed to Dataran Johor , Muzeum , the Mosque , Zoo , the hospital and other attractive places . It is closed to the eating places too. To name the few , medan ikan bakar , Mc Donald and coming soon KFC , just in front of the hotel . Also near the famous steamboat eating places , Luton Van , just in front of the Dataran Johor clock tower .

This hotel is 5 star hotel and one of the most expensive hotel in JB . You can feel that you are rich and famous with the way of the treats and the hospitality of the hotel staff shown . But for me if we booking with Agoda.com , the rate is much more cheaper and if you have a lot of points , you will end up pay nothing . A lot of activities offered at this hotel . There are 3 restaurant for your choice in order to unwind yourself . There are also spas , sauna , gymnasium and the spacious swimming pool available to rejuvenate and release your stress both physically and mentally . The things that I feel the hotel should refurbish is their floor carpet . You can see a lot of stains on it , especially along the corridor , the others are acceptable .

So come on , pack your things and stay at this hotel .... Among the family activities that you can enjoyed in JB are the Legoland . Hello Kitty and Lats place . Or just go to Singapore for the Universal Studios . But don't forget to start saving , since it might use a lot of your " dimes "..........

Hotel in Johor Blog: tesyasblog: Review of Thistle Hotel Johor Bahru ...

I fell in love with the exterior of Thistle Hotel Johor Bahru. I saw the hotel for the first time on our way to Johor Premium Outlet. I would like to take picture in front of the big clock located on a field in front of Thistle Hotel. I thought sunset would be the perfect time to take the picture.

I read the review on tripadvisor and saw the pool of Thistle. I book the hotel directly after I saw the pool, it was awesome! I made the reservation through booking.com and booked the cheapest room (city view room) without breakfast for MYR 290 include tax.

Kiddos at the pool of Thistle

When I stepped into the hotel's lobby, I like the interior. It gave me that "luxury feel" even though the room rate is affordable. Especially when I compare it with hotels in Singapore.

The huge lobby of Thistle

Love the stairs

We got a room on the 8th floor. There's nothing special about the room except it has a twin beds which were large enough for the four of us.

The hallway to our room

Great room for a family trip

The bathroom was ok, the most important thing was, it has a bathtub for our kiddos. "Can I take a bath" asked them upon our arrival.

An old bathroom

As we booked the "city view room", yes what we got was the view to the city. But we could exit our room and stand in front of the window just outside our room. It was facing the straits and the big clock. By the way, it was raining approaching sunset time, so after our swimming session, we stayed at our room watching Disney Junior:p

The straits few from Thistle Hotel

Location wise, it is not located at the heart of the city, but it was only MYR 15 away from JB Sentral. There's a KFC in front of the hotel, so if you don't want to go to JB Sentral for dinner, you can always have something from KFC.

Thistle also provide a free shuttle, you can check the schedule in the picture below. We enjoyed our stay at Thistle, and hope someday could enjoy the sunset from Thistle.
